Wealth industry players unite to support NHS

JM Finn is among several leading wealth and investment management firms to have joined forces to raise vital funds to support the front line staff working within the NHS.

Critical NHS was established as a life-line for the NHS Critical Care Unit at St George’s Hospital in London. Rory Scott of SPS Financial Recruitment commented: “Not being able to sit and do nothing during the Covid-19 pandemic was hard enough, but then learning that the hospital staff were suffering, made it harder. The food outlets in the hospital had closed and when the doctors and nurses finished their shifts, there was no food in the supermarkets. These NHS staff were going to go hungry if we didn’t do something to help.”

Rory was amongst a group of like-minded friends who set up Critical NHS to provide urgently needed food for the hospital staff. Initially it was a few meals a day donated and delivered by locals, to 500 meals a day covering the three shifts.

They now have requests from Chelsea & Westminster and the new Nightingale Hospital at the ExCeL London that is covering nationwide patients with Covid-19.

“Being a specialist recruiter in the wealth industry, I thought we could ask the leading players to help us with much needed funds. I then discovered that Charles Bathurst-Norman, one of our volunteers, worked at JM Finn and between us, we’ve contacted a lot of the industry and been delighted by the response.”

To date, six firms have agreed to donate £10,000 each to the cause which will provide invaluable support to those who are doing all they can to protect and care for those who need it most and for which we are all eternally grateful. The six firms are:

  • JM Finn
  • Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management
  • Waverton Investment Management
  • Tilney
  • Brown Shipley
  • River & Mercantile
