JM Finn, wealth management firm is sponsoring the Abbey 1000 celebrations, along with 19 other companies. More than £60,000 has been raised to fund the celebrations of the founding of the Abbey of St Edmund by King Canute 1000 years ago. There will be a year of special events which started on St Edmund’s Day, Saturday 20 November 2021, and will be finishing on the Saint’s feast day in 2022 (Sunday 20 November).
At one point, the St Edmunds Abbey was one of the richest and largest Benedictine monasteries in England after being established in 1020.
Neville Horn, Senior Investment Manager at the JM Finn office in Bury St Edmunds recently attended the launch lunch. He was “delighted JM Finn had become a sponsor of such a wonderful celebration of the Abbey” and was “looking forward to the many events planned during the year”.
