Talent Development

Our mission is to be the trusted investment manager of choice for private clients and their advisers, by offering a consistently outstanding quality of service delivered on a personal basis, by enthused and inspired individuals.

The best way to achieve this is by having a motivated and engaged workforce who have a variety of experience, skills and backgrounds. It means creating opportunities for individuals in all areas of the business to realise their potential, and linking our talent management strategy with our recruitment and reward processes.

We want to foster a culture of continuous improvement, remaining at the forefront of Professionalism and innovation within our sector.

Learning

We are fully committed to investing and supporting the development and progression of our people. We encourage and support staff from all areas of the business in attaining relevant qualifications.

For our investment professionals, we insist on standards higher than the regulatory minimum. This pathway includes the CISI Investment Advice Diploma and the Masters Level Chartered Wealth Management qualifications.

Diversity and Inclusion

Our diversity and inclusion initiatives aim to create a fair environment where the best people want to stay and succeed.

We are an equal opportunities employer that treats all applicants fairly and with no bias regardless of their race, gender, marital status, age, disability, religious belief or sexual orientation. We recruit and promote on merit.

Our Investment Management Trainee programme, which was launched in 2018, has proven a great success in broadening our candidate pool and provides us with a pipeline of talent for entry level roles within the business.

JM Finn is a signatory to the Women in Finance Charter, a government led initiative designed to encourage gender balance at all levels across financial services firms. By signing up to the Charter, firms:

  • indicate their commitment to support the progression of women into senior roles;
  • set targets and implement the right strategy for their organisations to achieve those targets; and
  • publicly report on progress to deliver against their targets to support the transparency and accountability needed to drive change. Our current gender ratio for the entire workforce is 60:40 in favour of men.

We will continue to review our recruitment and promotion practices, and focus on the development of our internal female talent pipeline.
