The Temple, King John and Magna Carta

The Inner and Middle Temple in London are at the heart of the legal world and play as important a role today as they did in 1215


The Temple was effectively King John’s London headquarters and it was here that he was confronted by the barons demanding a charter. The event on the 30th September is hosted by the Temple Church Committee, with the aim of assisting the Inn’s objectives of building closer links across the whole of the legal profession and will provide an opportunity for guests to view the Magna Carta exhibition in the Temple Church.
