STEP update for farmers and land owners

The Leeds office of JM Finn & Co sponsored a seminar for the local branch of STEP, the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning.

The event, attended by over 40 local private client specialists from the legal, financial and accountancy professions, focused on a tax update and opportunities for farmers and land owners. The speaker for the evening was Julie Butler of Butler & Co, a farm and equine tax specialist and the author of Tax Planning for Farm and Land Diversification and Equine Tax Planning as well as co-author of Stanley: Taxation of Farmers and Landowners.

The evening allowed the local JM Finn & Co team of investment managers to not only brush up on their tax planning knowledge but to also network with the STEP members whilst raising the firm’s profile locally. Commenting on the event, Andrew Aitken the head of the Leeds office said “we are delighted to be able to partner with STEP here in Yorkshire whose members are recognised as experts in their field”.
