STEP seminar hosted by JM Finn & Co

Andrew Wimble, Business Development Manager for JM Finn & Co, hosted a seminar at their offices in London for City Branch of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).

The topic of the seminar was Charity Law and Practice for Private Client Practitioners presented by Janet Turner QC, Head of Charities at BLP and Christopher Springett of Smith & Williamson and covered a number of points relating to regulation in relation to charities.

STEP is the worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning. The Society helps to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area and promotes education and high professional standards among its members.

STEP City branch members mainly come from the London EC postcodes but through relocation and mergers o f many professional firms, members are coming from beyond the city’s financial community.

STEP City branch holds annually up to ten evening seminars for members at a variety of venues within the City and Mid-Town zones and throughout the years the focus of seminars has tended more towards taxation and international issues with non-domiciled and offshore structures as perennial features.
