It’s that time of year again – The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal is this week, and the plan is for this year’s London Poppy Day to be even bigger and better than ever.

On Thursday 30th October a team of serving uniformed personnel will be visiting 4 Coleman Street between 9.30am and 10.30am with a selection of poppies and other merchandise in exchange for donations.

Now in its 9th year, this is the day that thousands of uniformed personnel from the Navy, Army and RAF, and their supporters, raise funds for The Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal. All the proceeds from London Poppy Day go to providing practical support to members of the British Armed Forces past and present, and their families.

In 2013 London Poppy Day raised an incredible £1,000,000 in a day thanks to the generosity of the people and companies of London.

Alongside the traditional paper poppies, enamel lapel pins, wristbands, poppy brooches and cufflinks, this year’s volunteers will have a very limited number of exclusive items available to the highest bidder (as few as one per building).

To commemorate the centenary of the First World War, Flanders Fields Poppy Cufflinks and Pins have been created from the solid brass of artillery shell fuses found on First World War battlefields. Each is accompanied by a certificate of provenance and resented in a high quality case.

The team of collectors will be accompanied by a volunteer from Barclaycard with a contactless payment terminal, which means you can dona te via card or cash.

Any donation large or small will be gratefully received and put towards the vital work of The Royal British Legion.
