JM Finn and Keepcup

JM Finn have decided to invest in reusable coffee cups for all staff members as it is estimated that 2.5bn takeaway coffee cups are thrown away every year in the UK, with just 1 in 400 being recycled.

They have the potential to stay in the landfill for 500 years and contain materials and chemicals which are not only damaging to the environment but have also been linked to carcinogen.

Opening our eyes to the 'reduce, re-use, recycle' approach, we hope that this will be a way to help reduce paper cups waste throughout our offices.

Waitrose was the latest company to take action to reduce plastic and packaging waste, announcing that coffees for takeaway customers will only be served in their own coffee cups. They expect to save 52 million disposable cups each year this way. As well as helping the planet, almost all coffee shops are offering a discount when presented with a reusable coffee cup now too.

Keepcups can be used for 3 years and then recycled, and you can find more details about the benefits here.
