JM Finn recently held an evening with England cricketer Tammy Beaumont in conversation with JM Finn Investment Manager Laura Langton – who is taking part in a 3,000 mile trans-Atlantic row as a member of an all-women ocean rowing team.

Tammy is an England, Kent and Welsh Fire cricket player, and long-time partner of JM Finn. She rose to fame when she became the Champion of the women’s Cricket World Cup 2017, scoring the highest partnership for any wicket in the history of the tournament. She was awarded an MBE in 2018 for her contribution to the sport, and in June 2023 broke an 88-year record when she became the first English woman to score a double century in a test match.

Tammy gave Laura and the audience her unique insight into what it means to be an elite athlete – including how she deals with armchair critics, giving and receiving feedback in the team and how she copes with being away from her friends and family for extended periods. They also discussed Laura’s upcoming row across the Atlantic and the importance of both mental and physical preparation.
