Charity ride to Paris

It all started on a cold and stormy night in the Snickleway Inn. Over a few drinks a group of friends decided to bi ke from London to Paris, with the aim of raising funds for two fantastic charities.

The team of seven riders, all from the York area and with children at the same school, will depart from Crystal Palace on the 7th September and will cycle between 60-95 miles a day to reach Paris on Sunday.

The two charities are the Candlelighters Trust, which supports families with their fight against children’s cancer by funding family holidays, grants and providing vital family support, amongst others.

The second charity is the Alzheimer’s Society which is leading the fight against dementia, which now affects more than 850,000 in the UK.

The seven riders are:

Richard Naish, Partner at Walker Morris LLP
Andrew Aitken, UBS Wealth Management
Joe Chesters, Private Wealth Management, ChesterWood LLP
Andy Cobley, Engineer at Network Rail
James Hallgate, Managing Director at Lucias Books
Dan Sturgeon, Procurement Controller - Nestle UK & Ireland.
Ed Britton, Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hips and Knees

JM Finn & Co is proud to support the team as they seek to raise over £20,000 and extend their relationship with Joe Chesters, who has partnered with the firm since 2005 in providing a direct service in the search and acquisition of teams and businesses which are in line with the firm’s culture and philosophy.
