BCKR – bridging law and the boardroom

BCKR is a membership body, working with lawyers to help them identify and secure non-executive roles.

Founded in 2013, by former lawyers in response to their own experience when they left private practice and embarked on portfolio careers, the group has members from leading City firms and elsewhere.

The primary role of BCKR is to provide individuals with the opportunity to network, broaden their experience and develop board skills and commercial acumen and also assists in finding commercial board roles.

Membership provides benefits not only to individual members, but to their firms – there is an opportunity for firms to provide tangible support to their partners in broadening themselves and their practices in a way that affords greater balance while increasing the pro bono offering of the firm. It also increases the opportunities for the firm to network through the contact of participants with board members who may be existing or potential clients.

JM Finn & Co is delighted to be a supporter of the work that BCKR does, and hosts the group’s regular breakfast meetings at its head office in London. To find out more about BCKR, visit their website.
