Having graduated from Exeter University, Clare joined Lazard Securities as a graduate trainee fund manager focussing on pension funds and charities. In 1983 she moved to Laurence Prust, joining as an assistant to a partner in the private client department.
She started managing her own private clients in 1986 at Laurence Keen, which was acquired by Rathbones in 1995, where she remained as an investment director until she joined JM Finn in 2020.
Clare has held a non-exec role as a director of an investment trust, the F&C UK Select Trust, was a Trustee of the Laurence Keen Pension Fund for 21 years as well as being a trustee of Calvert Trust Exmoor until 2014.
She has been involved with CISI, the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, over the years sitting on the board and various committees. She has just stepped down from chairing the CISI Educational Trust, which awards scholarships to candidates from it’s centres of excellence and is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute.
In 2012, Clare was appointed Deputy Lieutenant for Somerset.
