Having graduated from Warwick University, Brett spent his formative years in Birmingham working for Smith Keene Cutler and Albert E Sharp. In 1988 Brett became a member of the Stock Exchange following his move to the Bury St Edmunds office of Laing & Cruickshank where he remained until 2006 when he joined JM Finn as head of the Bury St Edmunds branch. In addition to family life, Brett is also an Ironman triathlete and Aikido black belt.
